An architectural study in ink and wash, inspired by my visit to the Unicoi State Park Lodge. The interior presents a fantastic artistic challenge: strong one-point perspective, the interplay of textures in the wood and stone, and the sheer volume of the multi-level space.
This piece is also one of the first in what is becoming a larger project, with the working title “Chambers,” where I explore the interiors of buildings and how they hold light, memory, and atmosphere. The cool blue of the windows here acts as a contrast to the warm wood, pulling the feeling of the crisp mountain air into this cozy architectural embrace.
Medium: Ink and Wash on paper.
